pF-Meter

  The pF-Meter from ecoTech makes it possible to measure water tension in a range of pF 0 to pF 7 (1 to 10,000,000 hPa). It has a ceramic reference body which adjusts to the respective hydraulic potential of the soil and therefore has a variable heat capacity depending on the moisture. The thermal measurement method of the pF-Meter is based on the fact that a heat pulse generated in the sensor head generates differently steep temperature increases depending on the current heat capacity and this can be assigned a water tension. The pF-Meter is completely maintenance free due to its measurement method; it is frost-proof and independent of the salinity of the soil. It is therefore suitable for long term measurements. It can be provided with a shaft of up to 2m in length on request.
