• Equitensiometer

  The function principle of the Equitensiometeris based on the FDR measurement method to determine the volumetric water content in soils. It is measured in this application in a porous medium which creates the link between soil and sensor. The water content sensor measures the water content in the ceramic cup and converts the measurement values via a calibration function into the matrix potential of the soil. Using this measurement principlethe entire plant-relevant soil moisture tension range can be covered with a good degree of accuracy. Even exceeding the measurement limits does not lead to a failure of the meter so that no servicing is necessary. The Tensio 300 is ideally suited to long term investigations of water availability for plants.
