Workshops

For all UGT's products, our team composed by researchers and technical staff offers training courses for lab and field. The spectrum of the training is from maintenance, calibration and measurement instructions up to plausibility check and interpretation of measured data.
At national and international conferences and workshops the UGT team gives presentations of new measurement techniques and innovations.

Design and Installation of monitoring stations

We offer scientific profound consulting from the beginning of the construction of the measurement stations. For the measurement instrumentation we offer all performance for the concept, planning, building construction, installation, and test run as well as training and maintenance.

Lysimeter excavation

We offer the excavation of soil monoliths from different locations for lysimeter and soil core experiments as a service. With the UGT excavation technology soil cores from 100 mm to 500 mm diameter and up to 1 m can be collected as well as big soil monoliths with 0.5, 1.0, and 2,0 m² surface area up to 3,0 m depth.

Lysimeter soil reclaiming

When the lysimeter experiments come to an end, we offer the retrieval of the lysimeter monolith. Thanks to a special technology, the soil monolith is extracted from the lysimeter and immediately cut on into slices, which means that the rhizosphere and its soil environment can directly be probed at several depths. This original technique allows to analyze the soil without disturbance after long-term experiments. This enables further investigations on the soil monolith, e.g. chemical-biological analyses. The lysimeter vessels can be used again for new lysimeter experiments after the removal of soil.

Operation of lysimeter experiments

In our own lysimeter facility in Müncheberg we investigate the validation of new measurement technologies. We offer the development of specific lysimeter experiments for our clients. Four weighable lysimeters with 1 m² surface and 2 m depth can be simultaneously operated for different experimental purposes. The data logging and the data evaluation can be entirely managed by us or be shared with you.

Determination of soil hydrological specific values

In our soil lab we offer the determination of:

• saturated hydraulic conductivity
• unsaturated hydraulic conductivity
• water retention function

from soil samples. Köhn partical size determination on inquiry.

Data logging and evaluation

Additionally to the design of your technical equipment we offer the complete or partial data evaluation as a service. With the help of our remote data transmission system we offer data preparation, with the setting of tables and graphics, as well as the complete analysis. For large-scale plants we offer the implementation of database systems according to your wishes.

Support and maintenance of instruments and plants

For our installations and devices we offer support, maintenance and control to allow the accurate long-run of your plant. Within the frame of this service we perform the readjustment or calibration of instruments as well as the control of the functions. For the free air stations we estimate in particular the effective operating life of our devices. For the UGT monitoring stations we offer system-dependent maintenance agreements.
