Monitoring in Forest Ecosystems

State of health and growth of our forests are affected by several factors. In addition to biotic and abiotic influencing factors, especially climat change and anthropogenic substances contamination are responsible for long-lasting changes in forest ecosystems.
By implementation of forest environmental monitoring, the basis of a Europe-wide standard guideline (Level-II-Program) has been laid for data recording and research of cause-and-effect chain, in the perspective of publishing scientifically proven recommendations for forestry management and environmental policy.
The water fluxes on the boundary layers of the ecosystem in forests are determined with different measuring systems.
