The Tensio 160 was developed for the long term use in lysimeters and is particularly designed for a horizontal installation. The small diameter of the ceramic and the shaft only lead to a small disturbance of the soil material in the lysemeter compared to common field  tensiometer.

What can the Tensio 160 do?

The arrangement of the filling lines permits the filling and venting in a horizontal and installed position. There is no need to uninstall the tensiometer for refilling. This prevents additional disturbance of the soil material in the lysimeter by multiple installation and removal of the tensiometer. Combined with the corresponding optional control electronics the filling may be performed fully automatically in order to achieve a minimum of maintenance. The pressure sensor with stainless steel diaphragma guarantees optimum function and a long life. If required, the sensor may be replaced without removing the tensiometer.
