DB20 manual band dendrometer

Manual band dendrometers are widely used in commercial forestry and research. They are a very reliable and cost-effective method for precise measurement and monitoring of tree growth rates.

Tree growth rates already provide sufficient insight for many questions, e.g., in commercial forest metrology. In addition, the rates can also be combined with sap flow data to correlate the respective water use or consumption with the growth rate.

The DB20 band dendrometer consists of a fixed scale and a sliding scale, which are held in position by a spring balance.

Compared to frequently used plastic strips, the stainless steel strip used in the DB20 has a significantly low coefficient of expansion of only 16 x 10⁻⁶ K.

You can customize it by cutting it to fit your particular tree circumference; it is held in position by the spring tension. You can then read off the tree growth, in the form of diameter increase, manually on the sliding scale in 0.1 mm increments.

Measurement range of trunk diameter: 8 … ∞ cm
Resolution: 0,1 mm
Width of the band coil: 12 mm
Tensioning force: 5 … 15 N
Coefficient of expansion 16 x 10⁻⁶ K
