Picarro PI5131-i Analyzer
Picarro PI5131-i Analyzer
Measures δ15N, δ15Nα, δ15Nβ, and δ18O for N2O
The Picarro PI5131-i isotope and gas concentration analyzer enables the simultaneous measurement of δ15N and δ18O in nitrous oxide (N2O). It is an ideal solution for distinguishing and quantifying the sources of N2O emissions. The isotopomers of N2O (nitrous oxide) can be used to investigate sources and sinks in the global nitrogen cycle by characterizing nitrification and denitrification processes in soils and waters.
Performance
The cavity ring down spectroscopy (CRDS) of the PI5131-i measures with ppt in the mid-infrared range. The analyzer provides measurements of δ15N, δ15Nα and δ15Nβ with an accuracy of 0.7 per mille, δ18O with an accuracy of 0.7 per mille and the N2O concentration with an accuracy of <0.05 ppb (all precision measurements refer to a 10-minute average).
New features compared to the predecessor model G5131-i
- Superior precision: The updated analyzer maintains best-in-class precision in measuring N2O and CO concentrations and is capable of detecting even the smallest changes.
- Improved drift control: The optics are housed in a sealed enclosure with precise temperature and pressure controls and are isolated from changes in environmental conditions, ensuring stable and consistent readings over even longer periods of operation.
- Linux operating system: Say goodbye to spontaneous Windows updates that reboot the system and interrupt data acquisition. Automatic data export via RS-232, Modbus or analog 4-20 mA (optional) possible.
- Remote maintenance possible: Reduced service complexity and user-friendly maintenance procedures ensure minimal downtime in the field.
- Streamlined operation: Simplified housing design with a single main box, no special power pump unit (PPU) required.
