The Soilmoisture® TDR technology (Trase™) has been scientifically proven the most accurate Volumetric Moisture Content measurement for 20 years. TRASE TDR moisture meters from our partner Soilmoisture use true Time DomainReflectometer technology to measure volumetric water content (moisture percent) in soil. This allows the devices to measure moisture levels from 0 to 100% with an accuracy of +/- 2%—even in soils with high salt content.

HandiTRASE

The new HandiTRASE model is particularly compact, the user interface has been improved and powerful new features have been added. The handheld TDR device with software comes with a universal charger, a 3-foot Micro-USB-to-USB-A cable, a quick-start guide, and pre-installed instructional videos and PDFs. The HandiTRASE is also available in a set with extra-sturdy measuring rods (0.9525 cm diameter) (Slammer); the measuring rods can be coated for use in particularly salty soils.

Field (Slammer) Probe

The extra-durable field connector with a “sliding hammer” and a 2-meter cable is specifically designed for use with the HandiTRASE TDR soil moisture measurement system from Soilmoisture and is ideal for measuring in hard, dry, and compact soils. This practical connector allows for easy attachment of particularly robust, interchangeable measuring rods with a diameter of 0.95 mm and lengths ranging from 20 to 60 cm.

Buriable Waveguides

The Buriable Waveguides are specifically designed for use with the HandiTRASE TDR soil moisture measurement system from Soilmoisture. They are designed for permanent installation in the soil, either by trenching at various depths, or they can be used portably as needed, making them ideal for flexible applications or confined spaces.
The measuring rods are available in two lengths: 8 cm and 20 cm, each with 3 prongs. The diameter of the rods is 1/8" (0.3 cm), which enables precise measurement of soil moisture.

The coated measuring rods are particularly suitable for soils with higher EC values (electrical conductivity) and ensure precise and reliable measurements, even under the most challenging conditions.
