UGT Portable Gas Measuring Chamber (hemispheric)
UGT Portable Gas Measuring Chamber (hemispheric)
Our portable gas measurement chamber in a compact hemispherical shape is designed as a closed static or closed dynamic system for measuring soil gas emissions. The hemisphere is sealed to the soil with a circumferential brim and a foam rubber seal, and it connects directly to a compatible gas analyzer via two ports on the top.
How it Works
Gases released during soil respiration are collected inside the chamber and fed into the gas analyzer through the “Out” port. Pressure differences are equalized with the atmosphere or the gas analyzer (closed path) via the “In” port, allowing for precise measurement of all gases generated under the chamber. For details on the specific gases measured and measurement accuracy, please refer to the gas analyzer's instructions.
The gas measuring chambers are placed on the soil for short periods for specific applications and then moved to new measurement points. The practical stainless steel handle makes it easy to carry the chamber from point to point.
Variants of the Gas Measuring Chambers
Our portable gas measuring chambers are available in two versions:
- Transparent Chamber: Ideal for measuring net ecosystem exchange (NEE).
- Opaque Chamber: Suitable for quantifying soil or dark respiration.
