UGT Capillary Water Guard
UGT Capillary Water Guard
We have developed the UGT Capillary Water Guard (CWG) especially as an accessory device for gas analyzers. The CWG reliably protects the highly sensitive devices from water ingress by being connected between the gas analyzer and the sample gas source (e.g. a gas multiplexer or a UGT WIP master).
How does the device work?
The housing of the Capillary Water Guard contains a water detector that detects water in the supply line to the gas analyzer via an IR LED and phototransistor and then emits a visual signal (blue LED) and an acoustic signal. This leads to an interruption of the gas analysis by interrupting the gas flow to the gas analyzer. A bypass valve switches over and allows ambient air to flow in. The Capillary Water Guard simultaneously sends a signal (potential-free contact closure) via the 4-pole cable.
If the CWG is used with a UGT WIP master (WIP - Water Isotope Probe), the signal from the CWG is recognized and the WIP master closes all valves as an additional safety measure. After water detection, the bypass valve in the Capillary Water Guard and the supply line coming from the sample gas source must be thoroughly dried using flushing mode. The flushing set required for this is included in the scope of delivery.
